Default How do I wire new HEI distributor

Can you guys link me up for my wiring listed below for my new speedcity motors distributor?

got the new distributor, help w/wiring

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now with the coil in cap instead of exterior I need help wiring the new unit up. Can you walk me through it, send me a document?

I see I need to hook up the power from the battery coming out of the firewall (hot lead) as well as a ground for the unit.

I also saw two other hot feeds off of that old coil, one to my carb choke and another goes I dunno?
The old coil need capacitor or something, I take it will now be history?

Can I also attach my electric choke to that hot lead?

I purchased a terminal that fits in your female connector that is labeled Batt/ Tach. Now I understand it needs to be 10 guage wiring. should I go ahead and buy the Jegs part?

Another couple questions:
Do I need to lube the end of the distributor gear you sent?
Do I need any type of electrical from your cap connector for the tach? I thought it was only the tach gear cable from the old setup?

Any help, links or documents would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Ken Carpenter

Luckily I had an ASA convention last week and the boys from Jasper Engines helped me out on this one.

At the local Autozone I found an alternator connector that fit snug into the Batt/Tach input on the distr/coil cap. I tied my 3 hot leads into that with a copper connector. Discarded all parts to the old distributor and it's wiring. Follow the timing documents on here to set it in place and bought over the counter 8mm HEI wires through seperators. The tach wire is not needed with the tach/gear drive for the early C3's. Just make sure you line up the oil channel in the block before you drop in the distributor or you'll have a heck of a time putting it at TDC #1.

Wow I just bought a distributor from those guys for my 71 Stingray. I wanted HEI with tach drive and I found their's on Ebay for $100 which is by far the cheapest anywhere. Let me know how your's is doing for you as mine should be here later this week. Thanks
