Default L92 Block

I am building an L92 block which is 416ci for my C5.
Anyone have any experience with one of these. LG tells me the only better block to use would have been the C5R at about twice the cost. They like this block because of bigger cubes. I am told all LS1 and LS6 parts will bolt right up.
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I think the c5R is aluminum. The LSX is a high tensile steel block, CnC machined per what I have read. As to bolt on from LS1, I dont know.....but based upon what I read, the LSX is the next gen from the C5R, but I could be wrong..........

Did you go to the GM PP web site ?

No the L92 is an aluminum block.

LSX is an iron block that'll compete with the Warhawk aftermarket block. L92 is different from an LSX but another choice in the huge array of new choices.

I'm considering it also

6200 6.2L V-8 (L92)

Displacement (cu in / cc):
378 / 6199

Bore & stroke (in / mm):
4.06 x 3.62 / 103.25 x 92

Block material:
cast aluminum

Cylinder head material:
cast aluminum

There is a lot of info on the L92 over on LS1.com

Suggest you might want to go over there and read up.

I am not an engine expert by any means but have found the L92 results to be disappointing. Not sure why, but the HP and torque numbers are considerably less than what you can get out of other builds. Some people say the problem is with the L76 intake, while others think it is the L92 heads. Seems you have to have a large bore or you shroud the valves because of their placement. Heard GM is working on new L92head that works for smaller bore motors.

I also read/heard that L92 heads very sensitive to cam selection.
