Any feedback on the new Mangacharger 122cid Hybrid's for the GEN1 SBC's? I see Carcraft did a article on it and so did Superchevy last year around the same time in summer. The 400 sbc made over 600ft/tq and was impressive for a mild cam combo in the Superchevy magazine. It made over 550ft/tq at 2200rpms! Thats what catches my eye. The torque was over 550 from 2200-6000rpms and it was a flat curve.
Im running a weiand 142 and currently want to upgrade since this little blower is seeing 9psi boost and is pretty much maxed out im assuming.....? I like the underhood/single big carb/easy linkage type blowers. Plus its quiet just cruzin' and nobody knows what I have until I mash it.
I think that the CI rating about explains roots type boosters. So going from 142 to a 122 Magnacharger is in the wrong direction. My friend has uses the 142 Weiand like you do driven to near max rpm and it can not create 10 psi in a 355 ci small block. He then considered the 177 ci Weiand when they first came out for small blocks and then decided that it was more cost effective to add a N2O spray plate under the carb.
