ya I know. I actually own a 91 mustang 5.0l that I pump cash into perf. parts all the time.
This Vette is my oldmans, so I dont think I can convince him to dump to much into her. The only thing I ever got him to do was throw some borlas on. Just looking for your typical bolt ons that adds a noticible difference.

Bolt-ons are incremental. It will take a larger throttle body, larger intake runners and tuning to get any noticeable improvements. If your game for a head/cam upgrade....now were talking real improvement.

Get a good tune-up! I believe a modified chip is the best cheap upgrade. Check ebay,,,,

Upgrade to a SuperRam intake base, runners, and plenum on top of a set of AFR heads (don't go too large), a good set of roller rockers and a high flow cat. This will work well even with the stock cam.

Asside from the obvious "nitrous"...

The single most effective part, cost effective part is HANDS DOWN, a Cam. For ~$150.00 for cam, lifters gaskets and everything, you can shave a full second off your 1/4 miile time.

A "chip" doesn't do anything thing that you can't do yourself w/fuel pressure, and timing by distributor tunning. Waste of money.

A big cam won't help when the TPI flow stalls at around 4500 RPMs. A good Intake, and then headers with a good CC would wake it up. From there, heads and cam. With an L98 you want to stick with 3.07 gears.

lose the precats, replace the main cat with a high flow one and run a true dual exhaust.you may find a later lt1 exhaust for little or free.at the least go with an improved y-pipe for better flow.
headers will help a little.
maybe some new valve springs with 1.6 rockers.
