Mea Culpa...
Well, on a whim tonight I plugged this individual's name into my browser. I am now convinced that all the delays, hassles, and wacky rotating assembly balancing gyrations we've gone through to build this engine are going to be worth it.
The Slowest Machinist in the World, it turns out, is a borderline serious regional guy in his own right. I should have had a clue the Saturday I showed up and he was shooting the breeze with a couple of guys who were both wearing "200 MPH Club" jackets.
And I just found out today that the Ardun flathead conversion he's been working on is owned by an individual whose name we all recognize. He's a bigtime crew chief and that's all I'm going to say. (Which rhymes, coincidentally, with LaHaie.)
And I was going to pull my stuff out of this guy's shop. Nope. I think they're in good hands right where they are. If anyone's interested I'll post the specs for the engine. It's not a race motor but it's gonna be pretty sweet... :yesnod:
2002 is looking better and better, boys and girls.
