Valve Cover DImensions
Does anyone have a set of the GM "Chevrolet" logo tall cast aluminum valve covers? I'd like to know the height of the cover from the head rail on the top (straight vertical dimension if possible). I want to see if they will clear the hood on the '65. The engine is a bit higher than stock, or is it that the rest of the car is a bunch lower than stock? Anyway, it looks like the front of the valve covers may be a close fit on the hood.

Stop making everyone jealous w/ your pretty valvecovers! :). I saw them at SDPC... something like $195. Maybe they'll tower over my AFR's if whenever i get those :)

Thanks for the replys. I've been off the net for the holiday (the inlaws ski house has no TV, radio, or phone) so am just getting caught up today. I'll have to wait until tomorrow to measure and see how close to the hood that gets me, as my poor '65 has been evicted to the cold of the driveway while Julie works on the '87. Did you know that the '87 Vette's car cover also fits the '65, even the mirror pockets are in the correct location.
