Default A friendly bet

My friend and I have a friendly bet.We need to know if you take a stock LS2 engineand bore it out to the max and use the stock heads, cam, exhaust, and intake manifold approximately how many horses you would get.I know if you bore the engine you might as well do the other mods, but we were curious if anybody could give us a ball park figure on the horsepower gained in just a bore only. We realize you would have to change the pistons and we were even using the stock crank. Thanks,Rod

Very little... Unless your Intake Valves are "shrouded" by the bore/combustion chambers. While I'm not real familiar with LS motors, I doubt they are. I also don't know how far over you can bore that motor, but I wouldn't expect it to be much. The Compression ratio is increased slightly with each larger size overbore, and that will give a little increase. Maybe 10 HP is my guess. If you can increase a Bore size by a lot; maybe .125", it should show a HP increase. Stroke 'um...
