Default Intake manifold w/ Demon 750.... Heat riser Question

Due to an unfortunate vacuum/computer disaster, or tornado.... under my hood, i'm getting rid of this computer controlled CE crap. Going to non computer carb, probably demon 750. What intake manifoold do you sugest with this carb. Remember, this will also go on my 383 when built up. Probably need this within a month or so.

Also, can someone tell me how the heat riser valve is actuated... I.E. - Is it open [gas passes] when there is no vacuum.... or vise versa? :) Thanks!

the Edelbrock RPM Airgap would be a good choice if you want dual plane....i have it on my 383 and it is very strong on the street......jd :chevy
