Don't pull the intake. You can adjust them fine with the intake on. Do you have Hyd or solid lifters. Either way you don't have to pull the intake. Look at the balancer and line up the marks so that the motor is at TDC. It is either at #1 or #6. If you have a question as to which one as you are rotating the motor over pull the #1 plug. Put your finger over the hole as you turn and you should get pressure. That would be TDC at #1. If no pressure go one more time over and you will be at #1. the service manuals will tell you which valves you can adjust from there. Then go 180 degrees and you will be able to adjust 4 more. 180 again and adjust 4 more.I don't have the manual in front of me or I could tell you which valves. Hope this is not to confusing. I adjust mine all the time and never pull the intake.

I just emailed you a file that I send to guys on how to adjust the valves (actually lifter preload is the correct term).

It's pretty detailed and sorta long to post on the forum though.
