Default Parts suggestions needed

I am going to build up my engine this spring break and need to know what parts would work the best. I am planning on doing the top of the engine and leaving the bottom like it is. So new heads, cam, and intake. Then I plan on going to true dual exhaust with headers. I was planning on putting in dynomax headers and taking it to a muffler shop and having them just run the pipes.

I am thinking about going with the edelbrock performer rpm heads. I think i should get the 64cc chambers to raise the compression a bit, but dont know whether to get angled plugs or straight? I am told the performer rpm intake wont fit under the small block hood, so I guess i will go with the performer intake.

As far as cam, I was thinking to get one from comp cams, but do not know which one to get.

Are these choices correct? Any help would be appreciated.

Th350 and i believe it is 3.73 rear. Stock was 3.55 and it is possible it is that, but the rpms seem a bit high for 3.55s

I tend to be conservative by using the tried and true. GM has the famous 350/350, and the L-82 and you could couple it with the Performer intake bolted to a set of cast iron World or Dart heads. You maintain the heat transfer as originally engineered with iron head, and headers bolt on without worry of stripped threads. They come in multiple cc's to get you the best compression without detonation, and the cost is around $750-$850. Carbs are another thing that tend to be picked on loyality. I have had thousands of miles of smiles with my Carter/Edelbrock AFB. From experience, one of the best improvements I made to my motor was a top of the line ignition system. Went to Jacobs Electronics and bought wires, cap and computer. Already had Mallory HEI under cap. These things together put some power to the ground, big change in performance and driveability. When you go to headers check your plugs after a couple hundred miles, the engine will probably be running lean, if so and you have the AFB use the owners guide to adjust the rods and or jets. The gear you have in back should make your car a neck-snapper.
I hope this gets you started.

....just drive 'em! Dennis, TOY-1

Roy

Sounds good on the ex.!
There are a lot of good heads like Edel. & Dart Iron Eagle. It's best to know current C/R & head cc like 76 for example or pistons, then the new C/R can calculated.
Comp Cams XE262 would work well w/ 3.70s.

Most of C3 mods takes place in C3. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zeroforum?id=3
