Newbie w/ a question

The real thing I'm worried about is having to leave it anywhere for work done, like the dealer. I had a LT1 Camaro(fully modded) that the service manager claimed I had to leave overnight. The next day I picked it up and it had 50 additional miles on it :mad I can just imagine if I take my baby in with the ATI on it. Every lot boy, salesman, and mechanic will be doing a "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" in it! It'd be like having your wife or girlfriend raped.
I'll guess I'll just have to insist that a can stay with the car. I hope I can fit a cot in the hatch, that service bay's floor is cold and hard.
What I do, is when I pull up to the service advisor, I TELL him the miles instead of him getting the miles himself. Everyone knows I know the EXACT miles on the car, and those miles better be darn close when I pick it up. And, they are never more than one (1) mile. They have to drive car to test and make sure everything is okay, but just let them know that you want to approve any miles put on the vehicle first. They will usually abide by your wishes. This obviously works best at a Chevy dealership and not Mike's mechanic shop.
