Saw that Electromotive has an EFI setup that includes direct fire ignition (no distributor). Looks like a nice setup. A guy here has it on his Porsche race car and likes it. He printed my a copy of the manuals (175 pages) for it to look over.
Anyone running an Electromive setup on a SBC motor, or know of a shop putting the complete package together (ie with manifold, injectors, rails etc). I don't know if I want to tackle doing my own integration from pieces or not.
They have a 60 tooth trigger wheel that goes on the damper. As for cost, I don't have one for the current system yet, but the prior generation was "around" $1500 for the guys Porsche.
 Hmmm... There was a time that I would have gone for something like that. I think that I will still use a dist on the 388 though. Thanks for the info.
Ran Blow thru Carbed for years then switched to EFI in 93 got lost in the programing, buisness got busy & I parked it till " I had more time " it is now 7 years later , the few times I had it running right with the EFI convinced me I needed a different car for the motor ! now I am looking for a 65 - 67 Vette to do the motor justice it isnt up to the HP levels some of the forum members are getting but I did pull a 3000 pound trailer to Texas & used it as a real Truck for 60,000 miles so the motor & turbo system was pretty reliable the manifold I got is like a big tube tuned port the 4 coil distributor ingintion was very tunable ( complex ) but remember this was 9 years ago, when I get around to it & will keep the hardware & change the electronics to make things easier to tune

I've never used the Electromtive ssytem, so I don't know if it works the same way as my FAST system, but I'm converting to a distributorless, coil per plug ignition system. I'm using a distributor plug from MSD that has a cam synch signal built in. With this and the crank trigger, the system is able to determine the exact position of the cam and crank for sequential fuel injection, as well as individual cylinder fuel and ignition timing.
I am running the Electromotive Tech 2 on my car with the Wintech software. I would have to say i am happy with it for the money i have in it.
One of the nice features is the numerous GPO outputs. They allow you to control Torque converter lockup, NOS, fans, boost, shift light, etc....
Another nice feature is the data-logging, i use this at the track quite often to see manifold air temp., boost, rpm, throttle position, air fuel ratio, injector duty cycle, cooling temp.
If i were buying something new though it would be the FAST system with the wide band O2 sensor. It seems to be a lot more user friendly making tuning much easier.
Either set-up is nice and not hard to do yourself, just can be just a little time consuming.
Yes, I've pretty much decided it will be injected. The only question is what system to use. I'd like to get one with a distributorless ignition if I can afford it. I'm still considering an 8-stack injection setup, but one of the single plane units is still a possibility. I'd love one of the cross-flow 8-stack units, and know where there is a Mickey Tompson manifold that could be converted to EFI, but they want $2k for just the manifold, which starts to make the induction setup cost more than the rest of the motor  .
