I have an anniversary ZL-1 in my 66 coupe. Pan has about 4'' of road clearance. Today while out I hit a really good dip in road and bottomed out on the pan. It has a 2'' crack at the back end by the oil drain plug. So this pan is too low !!! Motor is fine just needs a new pan. The new ZL-1 have a one piece rear seal . I need a pan with more ground clearance. The old BB pans won't work account the seal difference. I checked with Milidon and they don't make a pan for the new Big Blocks. Other brand I used years ago was Aviad but they also do not offer one for the new Big Blocks . I see a GM # 14103141 pan that comes with the Ram Jet ZL-1 . Any one out there have any idea if this pan allows more road clearance ?

Yup your right. It's not the pan I want. I did find another GM pan that might work # 12495360. only problem is it's a 4 quart pan so I would lose two quarts oil capacity. I did find that Moroso and Canton make pans that will fit the new ZL-1. Will see what the other GM pan looks like first, all depends on the sump depth and steering clearance . ------------- Ken
Nope another dead end pan# 14091356 is for a Mark 4 BB. Intersting that the part number came off the spec sheet for the Ram Jet ZL-1 that GM built in 2002 !!! I did come up with a correct pan from Canton racing so my search is finished ---- I hope !! ----- Ken
If you believe what Chevy says all BB's after 1990 have one piece rear seals. All the newer ZL-1 and 502 versions have them. I now have a very nice Canton Racing 7 quart pan with plenty of ground clearance so my quest is over !!! --------- Ken

I used the Moroso Gen V/VI 1 piece seal # 20411 and was happy with the fit. If you do a search on the forum for this pan you will find more info and others that have used it as well.
Ditto on the morose 20411 pan. I've used these on a couple of gen 6 installs. They're about 8 inches deep. Make sure and buy the oil pickup tube and dipstick that compliment this pan when you order.
