Head studs on C4, will I be able to remove them?
So it looks like they have to go on after the heads in place.
These studs have a allen head fitting sunk in on the end of the stud to remove them, or so I guess thats why they are there. Will this be enough to pull the head studs out after installing them to 65-70 ft pounds?
And remember, you will need sealant on the studs in the normal places...
So will you be able to remove them - you shold be able to. How much longer than the original bolts are the studs? If less than an inch longer, I see no reason why you cannot remove the studs, just like bolts.

You can use the head studs if you install the motor complete. I did on my ZZ4 when it when it. However, later down the road, the heads needed to come off and I was unable to remove the studs. You cannot use two nuts due to the limeted room in the head. AND you are correct, there is not enough room on either side to simply slide the head up and off the studs.
I just replaced the studs with some ARP bolts after that fiasco. As far as you studs with allen head in them, i don't see why you can't use them. The head would have to go on first then thread them in hand tight. I suppose those allen head bosses are there to remove them later, because once the head is on, there is not anything on the stud to catch onto. SO the Allen head would be great for later removal especially in the C4 where the head has to go on first then put the studs in. BUT REMEMBER the studs initially are only hand tightened.
Good Luck,
