Now I have seen it all !!
This morning I went down to see the guy who builds my engines (honestly I went to use his glass bead machine). There on an engine stand is a sprint car motor they just finished assembling as they were putting in the studs for the headers I noticed they were "gun drilled". I asked What for?? Lightening I guess, was the answer. Now I have seen it all!! And NO I didn`t order a set. ...redvetracr

ive been working on circle track motors for 10 years and ive seen it, everything drilled out and lightened every nut and bolt,its insane,these are the type of guys that have an unlimited budget.

Personally I couldn't imagine saving a few grams would outweight the danger of weakened studs!
