I want to use a Performer RPM Air-Gap on my 79 Corvette. The engine is an 87 model, w/aluminum heads. Will this intake, with a street avenger, fit under the stock hood. I have a low profile air cleaner, and looks like I have an inch or two clearance between it and the hood. Has anyone bolted a performer rpm-air gap on their 79 vette???
Thanks for any suggestions or comments!
I suggest you paint the intake instead of getting a polished one...
You might have a lil' bit of trouble getting the vacuum port to fit under the secondary bowl of the carb. You could try to use a 3/4" spacer under, but I don't know how your hood clearance would be.
This is a very good dual-plane intake that made noticeably more power than the performer w/egr I had on earlier.
i got an rpm performer airgap (polished) intake with a holly 750 on my vette (i know it isnt a c-3 but it is just as tight of a fit). we had to mill the airhorn so the combo would fit. it is tight but it fit. i suggest the polished.....it looks sooo good. good luck!
