Default removing c6 cove restrictors/defussers ?

the z06 side cove are much larger than the base c6 and if you look inside them you can see the washer fluid tank or the dry sump tank.
on the base c6 if try to look inside the cove all you can see is a peice of plastic blocking it.

now the plastic has some small holes in it that might allow the cove to draw some hot air out from the engine.

has anyone removed these plastic peices to try to maximize the effectivness of the side cove to draw hot air out of the engine bay.

might even remove the washer tank and relocate the battery to the rear to remove the large items blocking free flow from the headers to the side coves.

yes I removed them. All they do is cover the car up for vanity, but imo it looks cooler being able to see into the engine bay. The car will flow more air out and youll get less lift at speed. Using Z06 brake ducts will also help with lift reduction (smaller diameter hole than the base ducts - the diameter was an issue diuring r&D - they went to a 1" hole for the base ducts and this didnt work well for the brakes, so they put up with the lift until the z06 was developed) while improving braking (flow directed to the rotors instead of just into the wheelwell).

to remove the vent grills, there is a screw to remove in the door jamb facing the fender. Then remove the inner fender liner to get inside the fender, and pull the grill off (its held in by adhesive).

The process only takes a few minutes and is reversible.

A couple of other "free" mods include removing the vanity hood blanket and the fuel rail covers (these serve no purpose but will hold heat and add unnecessary weight)
