Default Bill Mitchell Short-blocks?

I just reviewed the Bill Mitchell Hardcore racing engines at http://www.theengineshop.com They have a real nice 427 short-block that comes assembled for $4,595.00! They use a 4340 Scat crank, Eagle Rods, Weisco Pistons, Clevite H-series bearings... This seems like a good deal.
Anyone out there with any experience or input on this???

I have looked at these as well. I would be more tempted to buy their race prepped block only and add my own choice of internals. I would look into buying better crank and rods at least.
Let us know what decision you make.

Yeah, I initially wanted to build a Dart based block with a Callies crank and Oliver rods...but the parts alone will run nearly $6,000 for the short block and the oil pan for the wide Dart block will be over $500! The price of the Mitchell 427 short block is only $4,595 and includes; dynamic balancing, all tolerances strictly matched, and complete assembly. All I'd have left to do is install a set of AFR's, and complete the valve train. The 4340 Scat crank and H-beam Eagle rods should be good for up to 600 HP! :D
