Hey there... I'm looking for a cam for my 350. I wanted to go hydraulic roller but it seems the shortage of lifters is affecting canada too. Anyway, I'm gonna stick with my hyd. flat for now...
Now for the question...I have desktop dyno2000 and I tried a few cams. I figured that with my setup the best would be the xe268h. Makes a nice smooth curve. Just to make sure, I went on compcam's site and saw that the lift isn't the same!!
compcam website:
int lift@valve: 0.477
exh lift@valve: 0.480
and I couldn't get the other specs that desktop dyno needs....so I dunno if the cam file was right or not...I wouldn't want to buy a cam that doesn't give me what dyno2000 gives me. So can someone please check it out? Do I need to call compcams to get the other values? Or is there a magical way to find them out?
I just emailed you the link I got my XE268 file from and attached the actual file. I'm pretty sure it's accurate. Maybe the file you got is for a big block grind or something? Good luck.
The lift numbers you have in your cam file are for that cam with 1.6 rockers. The numbers quoted by Comp on their web site are for 1.5 rockers, so if you're running 1.6 rockers the file you have will be correct.
Lift at the cam is .318" on the intake, so multiply that by 1.6 and you get .508" lift. 1.5 will give you .447".
