Default Question about solid rollers

Are there any block mods required for 1987+ blocks to use solid roller lifters? I'm thinking about switching to a solid for higher RPM capability.

Just looking for info!

Late model blocks require a taller (.300) lifter to clear. Comp cams, Crane, Crower etc. all carry them. Or you can machine down the lifter bore and use a standard sbc lifter, but I wouldn't bother.

you might look at the comp cams extreme solids, they have an oiling channel and seem to hold up better on the street. some of the rollers have failed when idling for extended periods as the rollers starve for oil.

these oil channels fix that issue. good luck!!11
