Default Picking a Distributor and Carburetor

Hello everyone,
Thought that I would post this questions so I could use some of the knowledge that you guys have aquired over the years. So anyways here is my problem, I currently have a Weber 700cfm carburetor with mechanical secondaries, frankly I think the carb is horrible, it always runs to rich and doesn't like to shoot up to the high rpms from a dead stop. In short my car is slugish off the line. What kind of a carb do you think would work best? I was thinking something along the lines of a 650cfm carb with vaccum secondaries. Secondly the distributor on my car is the stock one from an 84 camaro. I just found out that this distributor is computer controlled and.....I don't have a computer so umm I guess it is running in "limp home mode." Here is the question what kind of distributor would you guys recommend?
Thanks for your time I really apperciate it!
