I think you do need some extra sealing but believe Felpro makes a gasket for your heads,a reciever groove must be machined into the head but then no messing with the piano wire and such, something to think about is you nominal compression a with NOS on top of it,could be 15.1 or more ?Who knows with out putting the pencil to it? Cam plays a role as well.
Actually, thats exactly what I was thinking I wanted to do. I really did not want to take the bottom end apart to o-ring the block, I felt the heads should do the trick.
Thanks,
Tony
guys i would not mess with o ringing at that power level belive me i had a friend oring his 9 second mustang big super charger boost it was a nightmare geting it to seal for everyday use at 200 hp nos i dont think you would need it yet now if you were pushing 350-400hp ouy of a dual fogger or a big plate system i would consider it but believe me you might not be happy with the oring especially if you want to drive it everyday :D
We are not talking about oringing, just a reciever groove in the head for a special gasket, doing this often does "more" than stopping a blown head gasket
You don't need to O ring it. When those whom O ring it, they are super/turbo charged with 25-35psi of boost. For 200 shot no need to. Agostino built a lot of high hp Nitrous stroker LT1 motors, they never O ring it. The nitous shot they use ranging from 200-400hp only use Fepro gaskets.
