GEt a balancing fixture, that way you can get all the rods the same weight. It's more accurate than weighing them on a scale

Or have a shop do it

Having a shop that does balancing is the easiest and cheapest. If you want to do it yourself you need a digital lab scale which runs around $2000-$3000 CDN. You also need a fixture that holds one end of the rod so each end can be weighed and adjusted. This is time consumming and without the proper equipment can not be done accurately. You still need the crank balanced and by taking a set of balanced pistons and rods to the shop doesn't cut the cost down that much.
I spend days balancing my own pistons and rods and they took $50 off the cost. Not worth the time other then I know they are right on.

I want to do it by myself for deferent reasons. Can you tell me, can i remove the mass on the small and large end of the rod's. If yes, what kind of affect has this for rodbalancing (mass relationship)

If you access to a digital scales then you can do it yourself. You just need a special fixture that holds one end of the rod so you weigh the rods end for end and overall weight. You remove wieght by grinding the balancing weights on both ends. If you have access to a batch of rods choose the ones with the smallest balance bads on either end.
If 2 rods weigh the same but one has a large balance pad and one has a small one that means the rod with the small balance pad had more metal in the rod itself and it would be a slightly stronger rod.
Back to your question. You could remove most of the balance bads from all the rods as long as you kept them all the same weight both overall and end for end.
The balancer would just remove weight from the crank to equal the rod weight loss.
We try to balance within hundreds of a gram then oil clings to the rod and underside of the piston and screws our precission balance.
I have heard a balancer mention allowing 6 grams for oil clinging to the pistons.
