Mashine shop prices
I'm talking about boring&honing w/ deckplates, possibly converting to splayed caps (includes a line boring) & decking to 9.000".
I'd like to know because shops here in the Netherlands are charging an arm and a leg and I wonder if it woudl be more economical to buy something in the Us and have it shipped. All we have here are old blocks or goodwrench reman. stuff (I don't want that), a Little M or Motown is really expensive (bare block) so importing it myself may be lucrative after all.
For instance, a 502/502 long block costs around 9000$ here :( :cry
(strange thing.. I can edit the title but it doesn't change anything. It says Mashine, then when I edit it it doesn't change, yet when I press edit again it says machine in the title just fine..weird)

Here is a link to More Performance in Charlotte, NC. They do quality work and I would expect their shop rates to be a little higher than average. Click on "Services" and then "Shop Labor Rates".

Here is a link to Sallee Chevrolet in Oregon. They have a race shop, build motors, sell parts, etc as well as being a full service Chevy dealer.

Someone I know is an aviator and they're gonna pick up a new Boeing plane and take it to the netherlands, maybe I can cram an angine block & some other goodies in there. If that goes thru I'm probably going to buy it in the US.

If I can get it shipped this way I'm saving thousands of Euro's on shipping alone (and since the freight charges are taxed here too... ;) )
