L98 build up, need some advice
I'm helping a friend out with a 91 vette, last of the L98s.
thinking of a ZZ4 "partial engine" with the big runner tubes, ported stock L98 heads
does the ZZ4 "partial" engine come with heads compatible with the L98 runners???
I noticed they just release a different Vortec style L98 high flow base.
looking for the best reliability and decent power for under 5K installed and need some advice.
I'm a ZR1 guy and not too familiar with the L98!!! thanks.

Scoggin Dickey Parts Center in Texas, 1-800-798-4086, (SDPC2000.com) lists a P/N:SD360VTPI for $3399.95. It's a 357Hp/416Tq. 350 with VORTEC iron Heads & the new SDPC VORTEC to TPI Intake manifold.
The iron Heads will add some weight, but for the price it a real good deal! I think it uses the LT4 Hot Cam, so a custom ECM program/Chip will be needed. SPDC can whip together almost anything with OE and aftermarket parts to fit your needs. Try 'em out!

You won't notice the weight. The L98 makes great torque and will get you off the line without a problem.
I agree. I spent about that much money BUILDING a stout 355 that I eventually bolted a tuned port to. And I doubt that I'm making more power than a Vortec-headed crate 350.
Save the brain damage...get the Vortec crate 350.
