bushed lifter bores???
I picked up a roller cam block for building into a 383 and have discovered the lifter bores are stepped. the top .25 inches is one inch and then quickly tapers into the normal size bore (about .89 I think). This block came out of a truck and was running standard non roller hydraulic lifters. I want to run factory hydraulic rollers lifters and am concerned about the bores. The machinist has never seen this and doesn't know what to make of it. So I am thinking about bushing the lifter bores and am wanting to find out more about the operation before I go back to the machinists. Can anyone provide me with some info?
