LS3 in a Resto-mod

I'm going to look at a Car for sale soon. The owner says the the late 1960's model has a LS3 in it with a 6 speed manual Tremec making 525 HP. I'm a noob when it comes to the LS3 and am wondering what mods it would take to get a LS3 to that kind of HP, so when I inspect the car I know what to look for to see if the claimed HP is even in the right ballpark. The car is naturally aspirated.
