Anybody know where else I can find a custom fuel injection setup besides the Holley StealthRam, TPIS MiniRam, etc. ???
We are building a 427 SBC and are looking at either 12, 15 or 18 degree heads to get the 350+ CFM flow we need for 750-800 N/A horsepower. I want fuel injection for the control and efficiency, and I don't want to cut up the hood to fit a system under there.
http://www.rancefi.com/ has a manifold very similar to the stealth ram. I emailed them and they answered my questions the next day. it's the same height as the stealth ram, but they said they can machine it to any height.
that's all i know about them. I don't see any non-23* manifolds on their site, but they answered all my questions very quickly and thier prices seem very reasonable, that i will look into them further for my TPI replacement intake.
I have 18* heads on my tall deck SBC 427, along with a custom made aluminum sheetmetal manifold from Hogan's Racing Manifolds.
They can construct manifolds for practically any application. It'll cost a little more than an off the shelf cast manifold, but they do help make good power.
They list several EFI systems and thier CFM. They also list 1989 Corvette heads. Do you know if these are the same heads found on the ZZ4 H.O. motor (12556463)?
Wilson Manifolds in Florida does some nice stuff. My injectors just came back from them.
That sounds like a HELL OF A MOTOR! 427 18* is a good combo. My friend has that exact motor(It's actually a 434) with GM 18*. It's completely streetable, gets 20 to the gallon and is "WICKED". LPE Built it back in 1998.
I have Hogan's on my radar...just wondering if there was anyone with a tunnel-ram style base out there for the "odd" style heads.
Trying to shave SOME of the expense down to build this thing. While Hogan's ARE a work of art, they are $2400 worth of art. If I can get a tunnel-ram base ready to go for roughly 1/2 that, I can invest the rest into other parts.
Thanks for the replies so far...keep them coming...
I have been looking into single plane FI conversions with 1000 - 1300 cfm 4 barrel type throttle bodies. I think that it's the only way to go short of custom sheet metal intakes like Hogans.
