Default any L98s using TPIS cold air inducion?

they also call this peice a "racing intake". i have just ordered this unit and was wondering if any of you guys have used this and what were the track results. im searching for 12s on a L98 as stock as i can get it. right now ive done 13.20 with really nothing more than some exhaust work and DRs. TPIS claims 2 tenths and 2 mph with this mod. im confident that i could go 13.1x with a better launch, then im hoping the CAI will push me into the 12s. i know this peice will really only affect the 2nd half of the quarter, but this is where my TPI engine needs help anyway. the first 1/8 is explosive, but it falls of after that. thanks in advance

I have the SLP version of it (same thing really). If I am correct you are thinking of the one that draws the air from front of the radiator. I strongy doubt it will add 2 tenths to the car though..
At high speeds it defenately works though (80+ on the highway you can feel it work).
I have to say though. 13.2@104 on your car is VERY impressive. I get 1.8 60' launches on my street tires, but only get 13.5 upto now.. Nice job on your times.

Hi corky, is that based on before and after testing as a one off mod ?

What was your starting point, std intake or cut lid and k&n ?

I really want one of these to upgrade from my cut lid and k&n but i would want that .15 et for the money. :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod:

kind of. when i get it, ill do all the necessary cutting and stuff in my garage, but instead of bolting it down right there, ill put the cutlid/K&N intake back on. then at the track, i can just swap intakes with no hassle

It will give a slight gain over a cut lid w/ K&N. But it gives most of that at over 80mph. So it will help your trap speeds a little at least.

I very much doubt if it will give you the .2 you need though.

THIS IS TPIVETTE89. for some reason, the new server will not let me log in, its stuck on my brother's forum name.

anyway, i still havent recieved the intake from TPIS. i ordered it over 2 weeks ago through their website, and paid by credit card. i got a email reciept, but havent seen the CAI yet!?! these guys are really taking their time. i guess ill just have to hope it comes sometime next week so i can make it next Friday. if i dont see it by then, TPIS will have some serious explaining to do :cuss

ill still be going down tomorrow, weather permitting, for some more baseline runs. ill keep you posted

Thanks for the update :D

I have used TPIS several times and have found a big variation in the service and delivery, but i have always been happy with the parts i have bought, as they have all lived upto my expections. I have wanted one of these inductions for a long time, but it seems to easy to gain 2 tenths. I really hope it does, i would buy it even if i only gain 1 tenth.

I hope it turns up soon and they can cope with the christmas rush if you do come back from the track 2 tenths quicker

Mind you it might be the end of january before i see mine

:yesnod: :smash: :yesnod:
