Anyone have experience with this package? Hardcore is some manufacterer. Says is comes with forged rods, pistons, and crank for any size bore and rods for a 350. Also comes with rings and bearings. All for 1800 bucks. I'm gonna bore mine 30 over and prolly go with 6" rods. Think this is a good idea. I here 6" is better. I'm looking to pump out about 450 hp and tq with the parts im putting on. I just ordered a block and its coming real soon. Tell me what u think about this bottom end.
Re: "Hardcore" bottom end package from summit.... (SRVFAN7)
The Hardcore engines & that bottom end is Bill Mitchell stuff, look at the engine, it even says so on the valve covers. I don't have any experience with it looks like a really good package.
I looked into this a while back, and all is not as it seems  The cranks sold under the "Trick Flow" name are actually cast in China, and then "machined" in the US. Tricky! Same as Scat. Trick Flow doesn't even list them on their web site.
That said, I would buy a Trick Flow or Scat for most street applications.
Re: "Hardcore" bottom end package from summit.... (SRVFAN7)
I'm running a Bill Mitchell 415ci in my 8T1 Vette and it rocks....I'm also going to order that same rotating assembly you mentioned, for the 383 I pulled out of the car.....Looks like good stuff....The engine I removed was a Beck Racing 383 Max Velocity Plus....nothing forged and the pistons were the KB hyper.....they are very brittle and pieces broke off in the thin spots where the intake valve reliefs were cut....only 1/8th inch form the top of piston to the compression ring....very brittle in these areas....Use forged pistons and crank....you will be happy.
