Default Will this work?

Well, I'm deciding to go with this bill mitchell bottom end package. It has 6" rods and pistons that say it goes with 23 degree heads. The heads I'm getting are 20 degree. I've heard of people using 20 degree heads and 23 degree pistons and not having any problems. I'm wondering though if valve clearance would still be ok with the 6" rods? Anyone know? Thanks

Tony

Rod length has nothing to do with it. The piston design is what your worried about. Low end ($$) forged pistons like TRW 4 valve reliefs of questionable use need to be measured on any cam with excess of .550 lift especially with bigger than 2.02 valves. My JE pistons were out of the box ready to go with in excess of .700 lift with valves bigger than 2.10. I'm not familiar with 20 degree heads. Unless they have different valve placement I wouldn't worry, but I would check before firing the motor.
