I installed a Ron Davis aluminum radiator w/ integral oil cooler several months ago and finally got to put it to the test on the track. WHAT A DIFFERENCE. Before, like allot of other posts I read, oil temps ranged from 250 to 275 degrees and I noticed a substantial loss of top end power as the temp. climbed. Now, the max all day was a cool 223 which resulted in gobs of power down the straights. For those experiencing similar problems, this is a way to go. There's no way you should subject any motor to those type of temps. There are several modifications and fittings you will need and this is setup is available thru several vendors.
On the drive down to Moroso at 120 mph that morning, oil was 150 degrees, water was 162 degrees ( with a 170 degree thermostat ) Even on those 95 degree days with air, the water and oil temp's rarely go above 200 degrees.
Track Conditions: Moroso Sunday Temps 80 - 89 degrees, relative humidity 95% Hot enough
