Carb swapped tbi
Hi again everyone,
I’m finally getting around to swapping my motors over in my 76 stingray and was curious about the timing. The motor going in is a 1988 tbi 350 thats been carb swapped.
Can anyone tell me if I set it by the tbi specs or by the 1976 specs?
I have a chiltons and this is what it says for settings
1975-76 165hp(mine is actually listed as the 180hp which this book says is 77 only?)
start degrees @ rpm-0@1200
vacuum advance: start degree @in. Hg 0@4
End degree @ in. Hg 18@12
This info is the same for the 1977 180hp as well.
Ps. Can someone please explain this process or like me to a video?

All I can add is that the tbi heads are swirl port and will want different timing, your total needs to be less than a conventional older smog chamber and likely a slower rise in timing also.
Perhaps start with the tbi specs and move slowly from there. $.02
