..............I am considering an LS swap for a C2. I know, I know, many disagree and I have been a holdout for a long time, but now considering the advantages as I am not worried about originality. Am looking to build a driver and power tour type car so I will be changing the trans also to a 5 speed for the OD advantage.
Now here is my question. New GM Performance Parts LS long block premiered at SEMA this month. Part number 19370163. Has anybody here seen or had any experience with this engine? Wondering about the oil pan clearance or if an after market pan may be required. I know it will need an ignition driver and plan on FI Tech EFI on a standard manifold. Hood has a BB bubble on car so I don't think clearance will be a problem. Any other problems come to mind?
Thanks in advance and Happy Thanksgiving.
GM sells a few plug and play harnesses making retro stuff pretty simple.
No I dont like the way they look either but they sure are reliable and make good power for what they are.
IMO the best EFI system is GM, wouldnt think of going aftermarket and hoping for OEM reliability. Who wants to be staring at a screen, fooling with laptops all the time. Post in the C1-3 tech section couple shops post that have this down to a science.
My GM Plug and play was total ****. After over a year of run around from GM, I took it to tuners who never could figure out why it was such a piece of ****. Purchased a Holley Terminator X Max for it and it runs tons better. GM Sucks, and their warranty was great, Told me to take it to any GM Dealer for service, Every GM dealer I took it to refused to work on a car as old as mine. F'n aholes...
