I apologize for asking a question that I'm sure has been addressed but I am brand new to the site and haven't found a thread on the subject yet...I just purchased a 2012 GS and definitely want to add a MGW aftermarket racing shifter. I have heard great things and even driven a Z06 with one recently.. I am looking on their site and other than the falt stick being slightly shorter and it looks like I would have to go with a ball **** to replace my factory top...Are there any other pluses and minuses to consider when deciding between the two options? I kinda of like the idea of the shorter version but I think I would like to keep my current head...any help in making my decision is appreciated...

What about the noise levels those add? I added a short throw shifter to my years back and I couldn't believe how you could hear all of the activity going on inside the transmission.
I ended up getting the regular short throw ( not the flat stick ) and did the install myself. I haven't noticed any additional noise but I have really enjoyed the performance of the MGW. Well worth the money!
mgw no longer sells the race version-shorter throws
You have to ask specifically about it to get one. IN GENERAL, it's for the all out race oriented car. Not usually something people want in a street car. I've heard it being close to a Hinson which I think is the shortest throw but also requires the most force to move the shifter. All about leverage.
