I’m finishing up my Gen 1, 23 degree 350 engine for my ‘59 roadster. My roller cam redlines at 7000 rpm and the following flowchart shows the individual cylinder flow from the head manufacturer.
is there a method for calculating optimum carb CFM for a double pump carb using the flowchart and heading upward of 7000 rpm?
Thanks for any help.
There are some forumlas for carbs on line but they are outdated due to head tech.
best thing I did is call Jeff at AED and have him custom buiild one for your application. A/F will be on the $
A 750, maybe even 650HO would work great.
Thank you for your input. I have a Holley 750 double pumper and a Demon 850. Locals have told me 850 will work to get me to 7K rpm. Never trust the locals, so I think starting with the 750 is my best bet.
thank you for your input.
Ring Jeff (ext 11) at AED he is a master with these; he built me an 850HO set up specifically for this car, specs, weight tire dia etc. Awesome piece!
Tired of fooling with jetting, dont know all there is to sizing air bleeds etc. Id never have guessed as to the specs he sent this to me with. Your A/F should be right on the money out of the box
On Speedtalk.com there are some modern formulas to get your head spinning...Larry Meaux's Pipemax program is awesome and sold there. I believe he posts under
maxracesoftware...guy is a friggin genius. Post up under the engine tech section.
