Default Rod and Main bolts`

OK...so I'm looking at buying a set pof bolts for my rods and main caps. I'm looking at ARP and they have a set of Main bolts for about 25 bucks which look strong... Then I find their "pro series" set for 70 bucks. Now, is it worht getting the $70 set? I'm looking to run NOS after I'm done building this engine. I have a complete forged bottom end so I'm thinkin after i spent so much already might as well go all out. However, don't want to do that if it isnt necessary. Anyone know anything about it? Thanks

Bottom end advice? Are you talking BB or SB? Stroker? 2 / or 4 bolt block ?, crank/rods?, how much HP are you going to make and @ what RPMs? I take it you just you plan on short bursts? (1/4 mile). Tell us more...

I use the best fasteners I can find. The 4 bolt 468 on my engine stand right now has ARP main studs, and ARP 7/16" Pro Wave-Loc's.

I building a 350 gonna be bored to a 355 4 bolt main. Using 3.48" stroke eagle forged crank 6" h beam eagle rods and wiseco forged pistons I am gonna be sending all of it to a machine shop soon for all the machine work and rotating assembly install....But need to still buy bolts but so many choices with ARP!

Studs? I was meaning to ask about those as well. Are studs better? I can find them for the main caps but I don't think they make end for rods? For the Main Studs, it says with or without windage tray. Is a windage trsy s good buy for the pan?

The studs dissipate the load better than bolts because you screw them in totally and they distribute the load over more thread area. A windage tray is a good idea too, check your pan. Some pans already have a GM tray in them.

Stock rods only have bolts, no studs. The bolt face is chamfered and the cap is sectured with a nut. The cheapest arp bolts/nuts are a real improvement over the stock bolts/nuts. They could very well be the weakest thing in the stock bottom end (stock X-rods aren't too tough either & the caps are thin)
