looking through a couple equipment catalogs i've noticed 1.7 ration rockers for small fords.
has anyone tried them on a small chevy? guess the push rod slot would have to be opened up a bit!

Crower has very big ratio roller rockers for Chevy's. The pushrod head hole size is just one of the many areas you would have to cover if you went with rockers like that.

Your first consideration is: Can the valves spring handle the extra ratio caused lift? Do your spring retainers crush the valve seals? Are your screw in studs long enough to allow for enough lash adjustment with the longer pushrods required to center the roller rockers on the tip of the valve stems?
Then in extreem cases. Do you have to worry about valve to piston clearance.
I have heard of 1.9 ratio rockers but I have never seen one.
