I'm looking for opinions regarding camshaft selection. The engine is a 10.1:1,383, 6"rod,MiniRam,AFR 210,Aluminum Flywheel,6spd,3.73 rear.

Cam #1

Solid Roller
.390/.404 lobe lift
244/252 @ .050
277/285 advertised duration
108 CL
112 LSA

Cam #2

Solid Roller
.392/.393 lobe lift
250/260 @ .050
286/296 advertised duration
112 CL
112 LSA

These are the two I own but I've never run either before. Which one do you guys like and why? I'll be installing one and selling the other next weekend.

Thanks

KM

There's not a whole lot of difference between those two cams. You could
install cam #2 at 4 degrees advanced and it would be on 108 CL also.

If you're only going to race (autocross or drag), I'd go with Cam #2 because
it's a little bit bigger. If you want a decent street driver I'd go with Cam #1
or smaller, and the reason is not so much the cam but because you're
going to use an aluminum flywheel. You'll get a little smoother idle and the
car will be easier to move from a stop with a heavier flywheel. You do
have low rear end gears though, but I don't know what your 1st gear in
your 6-speed is either.
