the LT5 is a big engine but very durable and has incredible looks too.

a nice 368 ZR1 sold for 27K which is a steel. we've seen several go low 30s for a 530 hp LT5 368 car.

it would be quite a bit of work to put it in a c3 and believe or not, the LT5 weight more than a BB.

my dream engine, twin turbo 427 ZL1 engine. ez 1000 hp on pump gas, another 300 with race gas without building a radical engine.

I've been trying to get together a TT ZR1 which will be the ultimate C4 if I can build it!!

Something like the statement above is what I've frequently craved in the past. Yet if you have driven a true 500hp motor in a Vette and experience the serious traction problems up to 100 mph, I wonder how many guys would really wish for more. I am only semi crazy. Therefore I can honestly say that as I approach 600hp I really don't desire any more. “Seriously crazy” would probably be in the 700hp camp. I won't pick the adjectives that come to mind for those truly craving or possessing even higher numbers - But Gentlemen, you know who you are and what your are!

I would have to agree. Anything over 500rwhp is overkill. That is why 500 is my goal for the twin turbo LS1.

i think a nice hot 406 buildup mated to a six speed is hard to beat in terms of a good mix of retaining good handling and speed, and fun for that matter.

what's the point? not only will you never be able to floor it, even if you had slicks you couldn't find a spot to hit it. and would it really be more fun to drive than 500hp? maybe to have a sunday dragster that's street legal just for kicks, but only if you have other hot rods that serve the purpose a hot rod is supposed to serve: fun cruising/racing.

I know this is crazy. but if i had the money for that motor then i guess i would have the money for the tranny and suspension to handle it. Of coarse this would be for the drag strip only :) that motor has 12.1 compression ;)

It it were for the street I would have to go with a nice 502 with that cool new fuel injection system :D

Yes, you do know who you are! Once bolted securely inplace, you will also have to change your name to "Extremely QuickVet" :yesnod:

Okay, picture this...
A SBC 427 similar to Monty's setup, before he went TT.
The major differance would be in the cylinder heads.
I would choose the Dominion 32 valve heads for SBC.
They don't have the best high lift flow #'s, but there is MONSTER mid-range flow.

Didn't the makers of that Dominion Head go out of business? From what I hear, they are kind of a myth; lots of people have, "heard from their second cousin's sister's boyfriend's stepbrother that they are awesome," but nobody seems to have actually witnessed them in action. Interesting suggestions, though!

A crate LS7 with the Ram Jet 502 injection. LS7`s did not come with a intake so the 502 injection would be perfect. A easy 550HP right out of the box. Gas would be the only problem. { 12.5 compression }

How About a BIG BLOCK LT-5 Version, :yesnod: Lets say 572CIDish? Then on top of that you got two massive turbos on the side and a 6 speed manual to handle it  Now that would be impressive :yesnod:

Interesting. Are these heads iron or aluminum? Those things are expensive, but if you believe the hype, they look awesome! Definitely something to keep in mind!

they're aluminum. I can't see where they would bring improvment in anything other than a very high revving engine.
