The starter kits say you can bolt it on a stock engine. The compression on stock engines is in the 8-9 range and even 9.5 would work. The stock cam is fine, wilder cams with 110 lope centers are the limit, 112-114 is better but stock again is fine. The blower of coarse requires a hole in the hood, the accessories bolt to the stock locationl, electric fans are required, Most run 2 carbs, stock jetting.
I run a 8-71 with 2 850 double pumpers on a 460 15% overdriven but you should start with 15% underdriven to limit boost. I run 12 psi with a boost retart system but with 15% underdriven you do not need it and probably stock timming would work.
My car gives me 12 mpg around town, doesn't overheat, plugs stay clean and good starting.
The off idle torque is great and boost is right there regardless of rpm.
The 6-71 doesn 't require any oiling from the motor.
If you decide to buy it we could talk more
