I tried giving you my opinion to your post on the engine block but it will not allow me to reply.
Here is what I think and I have been dealing with shops for more then 40 years.

I find you get further being nice then trying to go in and threaten someone. If you p?ss them off you will get nowhere I deal with people all the time and anyone threatening me is in for a hard time.
Be reasonable. Work out a deal, you were going to deck the block anyway. If you want good work "be nice".
If you are also young you don't get as far being rude. Really do you think you can claim you never got the block?
If you want quality work you have to come across as nice, knowledgeable helps. At the shops I deal with they know I know my stuff but I am always nice, smile, agree but these are my specs, they know I will check them and they try to give me what I want. I do not argue about price but I want quality.
Be nice. You will get further with sugar then you will with vinegar.
Smile :) :)

I do plan on being nice, I am a nice person and have been nice to them every time I go there, But I am just saying I do not get the respect in return, every person at the shop is an absolute *ss who are very childish and unprofessional with absolutly no customer service skills what so ever. If it was not for the one person that is nice there that I do deal with, and the fact that another well respect member had his work done there I would not have gone through them, There are many more well respected machinests in our area, ones that actually have people on the track proving the work that was done.

What I am doing now is just preparing my self for the worst case senario, and I feel that they would be the people to throw the worst case senario at me. After all they screamed at me when I initally told them I want to cancel my order cause I found someone who can get the block in cheaper and right awway and would not charge me freight. But I gave them the benifit of the doubt and let them talk me into keeping my service with them, even though it would cost more.

Not that I can help you or anything... but I'd like to know the shop that did you. Does it start with the letter B-L-O-O-D? Or the letter H-O-N-E-S-T ? I really hope it wasn't BLISS because he's done right by everyone I know. He's expensive but it comes back perfect every time.

Good luck with the shop in any event!
