Nitrous will drop et's very effectively too, and starts off at about $400 complete. Before you roll your eyes, how much do you think an exotic electric supercharging system would cost? And how big of an alternator would you need? It's not practical.
If you want the massive power all the time, then why not twin turbocharge a sweet-running small block? It doesn't even have to be a 400. Even a little 283 will run like a raped ape with a couple of turbos on it.
A friend of mine took my nonoriginal 327, rebuilt it with a modern cam and stuck a small supercharger on it. I couldn't BELIEVE how good that little engine felt. And it was a lowly roots blower. I'll bet his 68 Camaro can put down C5's without much trouble with that motor.
Before you start seriously contemplating exotic ricer-geek technology, why not consider some of the time-honored and proven methods? You'll run from a WRX/SRT-4/Evo like they shifted into reverse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Am I missing something Here? Are we actually talking about the crappy electric intake fans that you see all over E-Bay? Cause I believe the original point was simply made that I was talking about a TURBO, in every way shape and form, it operates (EXACTLY THE SAME AS A TURBO) But where a standard turbo falls short, Garret stepped in and solved the problem, by adding a motor to it to keep boost pressures up while hard driving is not being done, I believe it's in the relm of 4 psi, which is nothing great, but at the same time, there is no spooling time, you step on the gas, and you are going.
when those 4 & 6 cylinders get rolling, they sure do fly. I personally know somebody who owns a GTR34, AWD & AWS...twin turbo. It is a really nice car, but expensive state side at like $90K for 280 hp stock!!!!
Guy, you maybe don't hang around here much. Monty's car has been measured at well over 1000 HP on the dyno. He knows a little about forced induction. There are many guys in GN's as well that have a lot of experience tuning turbo applications. It's not just an import thing.

I do not understand your point. My reply is to Hunter Rose's comments on the import's so what do turbo sbc & turbo buicks have to do with it? I never said it was just an import thing???
what really bursts my bubble when you see the r34 and "ohh god sexy R35 skylines, push out over 1000hp out of those damm little 6cyl's, then be able to track better than a ferarri on it's best day, theres just got to be something said about how the imports are being engineered to satisfaction rather than american cars with their " lets see how many we can throw together with the cheapest parts and most basic of creature comforts, keeps cost down and revenue up!!" Cadi's are getting it right though. :).
Honestly the only 2 american cars that have any appeal to me is well The CORVETTE!!! and the Saleen mustangs, otherwise I would probabily be another young rice grinder.
