Yes to both questions. I even went another step further and had the tranny shop make my 700 to never kickdown. I have to manually downshift or slow to a near crawl like pulling up to a stop light before my car will go down to 1st or second.

I have my tranies done professionally. I ran a full manual 700R4 for a couple of years. They have a servo to allow the WOT fourth gear operation. I would call some racing tranny companies and find out what's best for you.
