Nitrous on this engine?
hi everyone
is it safe to run a small nitrous system on this engine?
355 ci
hyper-eutectic flat-top pistons
bigger cam
2.02/1.60 heads 72 cc
over 9.5:1 compression????

and how big of a nitrous system can I safely run?

NOS on hyper pistons is a little risky, if you run into detonation you can easily break a piston. You would probably be safe with a small shot 100-125 and make sure you run good gas and take 2-4 degrees of timing out. That is probably over safe, but better than that sorry.
I know of a few guys that run hyper pistons and NOS, they are just careful

one of the big considerations when building the engine was whether I was doing nitrous or not, but I didn't anticipate it being an option, so I didn't bother with the extra expense of forged pistons
if I did go with a nitrous shot, it would be even smaller than 125, maybe under 100
