TH350 Engine Combo

Will a TH350 with 3:08's mate okay with 350HP L-48 or ZZ-4? Or will I have to make some additonal mods? Car is not raced, but would like to be able to power newer family sedans, like day a maxima, with ease. Currently unable to out perform most other (new) vehicles on the road.

The trans bolts right up to the engine, as long as it's a Chevy TH300. In a C4, you will need to adapt the "C" beam to the trans. If you are replacing a 700R4, 4L60, or a 4L60E, you will have a higher 1st gear, and lose some of your initial "jump" out of the hole. Also, you will lose your overdrive and increase cruising rpms by 30%. You don't state the car year or what the trans is that you are thinking of replacing. If it is a TH400, the ratios are nearly identical, but the TH350 will eat a few less hp. The 700R4 can easily be beefed to take all the power you plan to throw at it. If your present trans isn't the 4 speed OD, that is what *I* would be looking at. Good luck, and...
