Re: First Impressions...Mcleod Street Twin (427Hotrod)
Jim, just got my street twin as well, can't wait to get it on the car. My motor is being balanced with the new aluminum flywheel. Sounds like a good choice. You are right they sure are pretty.
Re: First Impressions...Mcleod Street Twin (69 N.O.X. RATT)
John...I'm working on the logistics of that right now! Gotta get me and the "lenient" track together!
The base version Mcleod says can handle 1000 hp with no issue. Steve B. (542C2) has put 1192 RWHP through his without slippage. I had the static pressure increased on mine to make sure it would hold anything I threw at it.
Jsut like anything else, you have to shop around on prices and there are several ways to go. Aluminum flywheel, steel flywheel, Borg/Long pressure plate, diaphragm pressure plate etc. They all affect price and remember it's a 2 disc clutch/pressure plate, floater and flywheel assy, so it ain't cheap! But if you need it you really don't have any choice.
Re: First Impressions...Mcleod Street Twin (542C2)
I guess a "real" run is about like one of your subtle little foundation of the building shaking dyno runs!
You know, it *almost sorta* hooks decent on the T/A's once you get it rolling. Much better than last time. Of course I have less gear, 2" taller tires and less low end power..but hey it works!
It might be kind of fun. Let's see...stick on the 90/10's, remove swaybar and make it launch!
