Quick question, whatever happened to Merlin522 and his wild Vette?
Last I heard, he was putting it up for sale. And I haven't seen him around here in ages.
Is he tackling another wild Vette project?
Did he ever race his twin-blown C3 at the strip?
He is interested in buying my Ferrari 360 Spider. He is still smarting from spending 250K+ on the Corvette and never having it get even close to it's potential. He currently has a Mercedes and a Hummer. He wants to get rid of the Mercedes and get something a little more outrageous (and noticeable).

Steve
 I thought he was saving to go back to school. that is why he sold the vette right?
Steve seems to change his mind frequently. The last time I talked to him (about a year ago) he had gotten rid of all of his cars and bought a Honda Accord.
The next time I talked to him he was right back in the high performance market.
As to why he sold the Corvette, my opinion is that after putting a crap load of money in it, he saw no light at the end of the tunnel. A car like that needs CONSTANT maintenance and Steve was sick of getting bent over by so called experts that really couldn't help him.
 He sold his 250K Vette and his Viper Venom 550 for a HONDA???????
  :(
Would someone who knows him invite him to this thread for an explanation please? He was hell bent on proving to the world that the C3 could have been the greatest performing car on the planet, and now he's gone "2Fast and 2Furious" on us??? Say it isn't so.
He was everyone's hero on this forum. A King among men. Very gracious. In the end though he seemed stressed and so alienated himself somewhat from all of us forum buddies. That's the backlash I read in these threads. RIP to the majesty, that was one sick and twisted, wonderful, mindblowing restification, and the viking behind it. :blueangel:
I wasn't here for most of it, but I'm sorry he got alot of the criticism he did. When it comes down to it, that must've been one hell of an amazing experience, we should all be so lucky!
He had a lot of trouble accepting criticism. He got into pissing matches with some people, which might be one reason he stopped frequenting the forum. He also didn't like talking about the cost of his project. As we all know, when you pay for someone else to do anything, it costs 5 times as much as if you did it yourself. But if money's no object, I can understand some things getting farmed out.
I miss reading about his progress, but I think he accomplished his mission to make the most outrageous Vette ever! :yesnod: I liked the fact that he researched almost every aspect of what went into the car - engine parts, body changes, suspension, etc.
If he did.... don't you think he'd be happy about the project and still be here?
I don't know... It sounded like other things in his life were tugging him away. BUT, I think all Vette lovers will return in the end...it's just a matter of time! :yesnod:
That's the only thread I can find on him and I don't know what is the cars status lately. I havn't heard if anybody has seen the car around town yet. The weather is starting to get pretty cool up here so a lot of Vettes have been tucked in for the winter by now. Not mine of coarse. I keep driving it 'till they start spreading the salt and sand all over the road. The coldest I've seen on the outside dash temp is 2 degrees.
