Default Speed-o-motive.

My car is a 1991 corvette 6spd with lt4 hotcam kit 113 alu LPEported heads. Headers.
Im looking for 383 kits.
Im not using nitrous or supercharger.
Its a street car that sees the dragstrip around 5 times a year.
My shift points is around 6000rpm
Im going to use the LT1 intake.

Im looking at speed-o-motive stroker kits. http://www.speedomotive.com/383%20Mighty%20Mouse.htm

Is that kit to "weak" for my app?

What would you recomend?

thats sounds good :)

They recomend me this kit:
1 PC SEAL SBC 383 ALL FORGED STROKER CRANK KIT
ALL FORGED CRANK KIT $1564.00
KIT INCLUDES:
4340 FORGED 3.750" STROKER CRANK
4340 FORGED 5.7" H-BEAM RODS WITH ARP 7/16 CAP SCREW BOLTS, FULL FLOATING PINS
FORGED 16cc DISH TOP PISTONS-ZERO DECK COMPRESSION RATIO = 58cc 10.5-1, 60cc 10.1-1, 64cc 9.6-1, 72cc
TOTAL SEAL MAX-MOLY DUCTILE FILE TO FIT RINGS
CLEVITE H-SERIES MAIN & ROD BEARING

Sounds like overkill for my apps. And my budget. ?

It seems a little "overkill", based on your stated, intended, usage. Of course, better safe than sorry. I can't speak for your budget.

The description of the parts, sounds, "killer". I would want assurances that they are reputable brand name items. While *I* have never dealt with Speedomotive, they have received mixed reveiws, in the past. You may want to do a search, and draw your own conclusions. Good luck, and...

RACE ON!!!

for the same price you can get Eagle 4340 forged stuff and JE/SRP pistons. i prefer the 6.0" rods with the 3.75" stroke, it has more dwell time near TDC and BDC not to mention a lot less side thrust. the longer rods counter act the old "strokers can't rev" theories. Speed-O is good, but not the best bargain in town. if your looking to go cheap, look at Scat cranks, but they can be a pain to balance. Brian
oh ya, keep checking carparts.com, sometimes they run daily specials like 50% for the next couple hours. i have gotten lucky there before, Edlebrock 195cc rpm heads $580 a pair complete. good luck

I bought my Little M block from them. I think the people that have had problems have been the ones buying the complete engines if I remember correctly. Don't be concerned if your parts are overkill, GM put forged cranks & rods into many of the Corvettes, probably good insure to start with good parts ;) .

:_dupe: I don't trust them. A friend at work swears by them and bought a 406 built by them. I see the car a lot but have never had a ride. But I did drop by their shop in central LA with a few questions about custom machine work. Not a metal working machine in sight - maybe just a box strapping machine. Yep, just a reboxing factory. The young man working the counter assured me he could outsource any machine work needed. Now I see they have photos on their website of some heavy machines but I don't trust them anymore. And a guy in the C3 section - Fevre - had big problems with his crate motor from them.
My recommendations would be pay the extra for LUNATI - much better reputation. :yesnod:
