Default Yeah the 388 is in the car !!!

Well I picked up the new engine yesterday and some friends came over to lend a hand getting it in there :D

You know I'm getting serious when I'm about to jump up and down on the engine to stuff it in there (oops, that's right it's just a smallblock :lolg: )

And this is how far I've gotten today:

Now just the exhaust, waterpump, alt., power steering pump, etc...

Me personally, I can't stand starting a new engine, I always feel like i'm about to :puke:

The first 20 minutes are horrible...

Why didn't you mill down the BRODIX on the valvecovers?

Good luck, i'll be looking for your post of a thousand grins when you get it runing.

Vetdrms, Looking forward to driving it must be the understatement of the year :D I am a tad nervous now as get get closer to being able to fire it  I bought the Brodix valvecovers & painted them while I still had the Track 1's, I never thought about milling them smooth, maybe in the fall ;)

If you were proud of those heads you wouldn't have the "Competitors" Valve covers!:)

I never take the hood off to do motor changes. It saves me an hour of labor. Actually I chipped the edge of a hood when reinstalling it and I said never again am I going to screw around with it.

Even though you have a roller cam it's worth it to do a short 2500 or so constant rpm to let the rings seat and get everything up to temp while your looking for leaks and other problems.

Yeah I may have to do something about the valve covers, but they do look pretty good on there IMO, & AFR's covers just look lame to me

Z-man I'll be sure to post when i get it fired (about 3 weeks probably). I can't wait :D

George I can't see removing the engine with the hood still on  . I cancelled my -8 Pro Lite 350 hose that's been on back order for over a month now & oredered the Aeroquip -8 Socketless hose today so I can start putting the fuel system in soon ;) I'll keep the rev changes in mind when I start it
